Operation Porcupine Update - October 9, 2009

I'm happy to announce that La Folie has ordered Wooly Pigs brand Mangalitsa. La Folie is one of the Bay Area's best restaurants. They have a Michelin star.

La Folie is physically very close to Frascati - the first SF location to serve our Mangalitsa this weekend (as mentioned in SF's 7x7).

Operation Porcupine started shortly before September 30. In little more than a week, Wooly Pigs secured orders from some 5 customers known to be extremely quality-sensitive, with a total of 3 Michelin stars among them.

In addition, San Francisco media has already taken note of Operation Porcupine.

Great stuff! I have been raising mangulitsa for 3 years now (I am living in Serbia) and cannot practically force myself to eat more conventional pigs any more, they lack the porky flavour. The sole exception being spanish bellota pata negra ham, but those pigs seem to be close cousins of mangulitsa, especially lasasta or black one.

People have a hard time understanding how great Mangalitsa tastes.

Fortunately, it just takes eating a few grams to convince someone that the stuff is incomparably better than all readily available alternatives.
